About Lara Grant
Lara was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She started her film career at the age of 18 after attending a summer program for aspiring young filmmakers. While attending UCLA, she landed her first movie gig working in feature film editorial at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. Lara was accepted into the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild at the age of 20 and worked for many years in feature film editorial on films like “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” and “National Treasure.”
Lara transitioned to the world of visual effects, working for Sony Pictures Imageworks and Rhythm & Hues Studios where she worked as a Digital Production Manager on films like “Fast & Furious,” “Life of Pi,” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”
Lara was fortunate enough to be a part of two award-winning teams. In 2003, her team won the A.C.E. (Eddie) Award for Best Edited Feature Film for “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” and in 2013 her team won the Best Visual Effects Oscar for their work on “Life of Pi.”
In 2020, Lara’s path led her into the exciting world of stunts. She works behind the scenes for both StuntListing.com and TheStuntBreakdown.com and assists busy stunt coordinators, but her greatest joy is helping new performers learn about the industry, giving them all the tools and knowledge they need to ensure they're on the path to success.
Lara now resides in Chicago, Illinois and hopes to be a part of a Taurus World Stunt Awards winning team one day 😁
